Here’s another screenshot post involving a Capcom game. This one is dedicated to ten brand new Bionic Commando screenshots. Not the best batch of screenshots, but it’s good to have an update.
The Nintendo Entertainment System is the cradle for many fantastic games and since I did not have the privilege of owning one, I missed out on a lot. Capcom’s Bionic Commando was one of those missed opportunities. To be perfectly honest, I never even heard about Bionic Commando prior to the announcement of the remake, Bionic Commando: Rearmed. A platformer which didn’t have jump function, but employed an effective and fun swinging mechanic? Alright. That sounds a bit crazy, but I’m willing to put down $9.99 CAD for it and now that I’ve played it, I believe all of you should too.
Bionic Commando: Rearmed came out on XBLA earlier and it will arrive on PSN and PC today. Try the demo and hopefully you’ll find it awesome enough to pay the 800 MS or $9.99 CAD or $14.99 CAD for one of the three versions.
I’m getting it on the PSN since it’s a d-pad centric game and that’s where the Dual Shock 3 excels at. (I’m also not a fan of paying for those MS points) Anyways, it looks very promising. Apparently, the PSN version will have an extra “challenge room” along with Remote Play capability. Sweet. More incentive.
Capcom also mentioned that Street Fighter Alpha will also debut on the PSN Store as a PSOne Classic. Don’t get that unless you really love Street Fighter Alpha and will die without owning every release of it.
The next five weeks are going to be amazing for Xbox Live! Arcade games. Microsoft just pinned the release dates for four XBLA exclusives and Bionic Commando Rearmed.
Capcom’s community blog unveiled their official E3 line-up which included a mysterious game codenamed, “Flock”. I honestly have no idea what it is. What I do know is that Capcom’s E3 line-up is a solid one.
Captivate is Capcom’s own media event. Nothing super exciting happened, but there were some noteworthy pieces of media and info which I stumbled across.
Street Fighter IV
Unlike another Street Fighter game, this one is actually impressing me with every showing.
The ‘Vengeance’ Trailer is definitely worth watching if you haven’t seen the game for awhile. Ignore the announcer and his ramblings; he’ll stop at the half way point and then you can enjoy some fantastic Street Fighter IV footage. If you’re wondering how the game is shaping up, it’s actually going very well according to impressions from Kotaku.
People will be pleased to know that the console versions will include the following exclusive features:
A classic 2-D game which I never had the pleasure of playing was Bionic Commando. So what better way to play than through a modern remake dubbed Bionic Commando Rearmed. Co-op play?! I’m there. Day one. Companies need to put more classics out like this.
