Tatsunoko vs Capcom Trailer 2

Monday, October 6th, 2008

The latest Tatsunoko vs Capcom trailer brings back so many memories. From the announcer’s “Deadly Rave” to the over-the-top action. All sorely missed and watching the trailer doesn’t exactly satiate the desire to play the game.

Do I see Megaman?! Yes, I do!

Megaman 9 Protoman Screenshots

Monday, October 6th, 2008

The upcoming Megaman 9 DLC is a point of contention for some folks, but I’m not here to debate that issue. In fact, I don’t even own Megaman 9. Fortunately, for you folks out there, that hasn’t stopped me from sharing some media from the upcoming DLC pack featuring Megaman’s rival.

Nintendo’s Upcoming Wii-makes

Friday, October 3rd, 2008

Believe it or not, but Nintendo really wants to cater to everyone. Even the hardcore crowd.

However, it seems like they aren’t trying very hard. Especially with the following Wii-makes (re-released games with motion controls grafted on)

  • Metroid Prime
  • Metroid Prime 2: Echoes
  • Pikmin
  • Pikmin 2
  • Mario Tennis
  • Chibi Robo
  • Donkey Kong Jungle Beat

Lots of GameCube classics. Worth revisiting? Perhaps, it all depends on the implementation of that tricky Wiimote.

That Nintendo is a crafty one though. Why go through all the trouble of developing brand new titles catered to the hardcore audience when you can revisit the classics you know they love and fuse motion controls right into it. Instant profits!

Bayonetta and MadWorld Pre-TGS “Trailers”

Wednesday, October 1st, 2008

Two “trailers” from Platinum Games’ Bayonetta and MadWorld. First, let’s take a look at the Bayonetta trailer since it’s literally the first piece of gameplay footage from this pre-hyped game. (It is being helmed by the creator of Devil May Cry, after all)

Not much to say about it. It looks like it has a pretty good engine running

Wii HD To Arrive By 2011?

Wednesday, October 1st, 2008

PS4 rumors was yesterday. Today is Wii HD’s turn. WhatTheyPlay have a rather lengthy writeup of some rumblings they heard pertaining to the Wii HD. Nothing industry shattering, but the one key quote I took from it was this:

“the shift from Game Boy to Game Boy Advance,” where familiar, key elements were left intact while the core hardware was made more powerful.”

Seems like a no brainer. It’s also safe to assume that it will retain the Wii name somewhere (not necessarily Wii HD) and will be focused around the controller instead of the box itself.

Megaman 9 Screens and Art Extravaganza

Saturday, September 20th, 2008

Are you ready for more 8-bit Megaman? I’m not. I’m just not feeling the excitement around the ‘9th‘ installment of the original Blue Bomber’s adventures. Even after looking through all the celebratory screenshots and artwork which Capcom released, I’m not feeling it. However, if they released a new 2D Megaman X, I’ll be there day one!

This Week’s Famitsu Announcements

Wednesday, September 17th, 2008

This week’s Famitsu magazine was quite informative. An anticipated fighter gets a release date,

Tatsunoko vs Capcom - December 11th - Nintendo Wii

Really?! For the Wii? I presume it will support Classic Controllers, but what about GameCube controllers? And what about the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions? I know the Wii is selling like rice over there, but c’mon!

White Knight Chronicles: Pulse of the Ancients - December 25th - PlayStation 3

Finally! WKC has a release date. Even if it’s just for Japan.

Level 5’s White Knight Chronicles was first seen over two years ago and it was quite impressive then. However, I don’t know much about it. In fact, all I know is that boasts huge armored mechs, it’s a JRPG and it’s coming exclusively for the PS3. It’s not my fault either, it’s just that Level 5 and Sony have been very hush hush about this title.

Monster Hunter 3 Playable At TGS

The Monster Hunter series is huge in Japan. It sells PSPs like how Wii Sports sold/sells Wii’s in America. Me? I never played a single game from this Japanese loved franchise. I guess fans will be glad to know that the third Wii exclusive installment of Monster Hunter will be playable at the Tokyo Game Show later next month.
