Thanks to GameLoft and Interplay, Earthworm Jim is heading for PSN, WiiWare and XBLA this holiday 2009.
Will it be the original or will it be a remake like GameLoft’s other notable remake, Prince of Persia Classic? The press release doesn’t say. I was excited about the prospect of a sequel or a remake of the original, but a rerelease is a tougher pill to swallow.
I don’t recall the gameplay of Earthworm Jim being very good. I remember being amused by the goofy animation styling and the soundtrack, but not the gameplay itself. And if the game was sketchy then it must atrocious by today’s standards. Either way, I’m curious to see what will come out of this news!
This XBLA exclusive Metroidvania styled Shadow Complex game looks absolutely amazing. I cannot believe it took this long for someone to make something like this.
Shadow Complex releases on August 19, 2009 for just 1200 MS points
Super Street Fighter II Turbo: HD Remix will be receiving a patch soon. This patch will address a fair number of technical bugs and will not address any of the balance complaints certain folks have brought up. I’m sure most of us would have appreciated if Capcom released this patch before SFIV, it’s still a nice gesture.
Here are the proposed changes:
After a number of games, the HUD will be corrupt. Yellow lifebars will freeze, the round counter flags will all be on, and the names will show more than one name. (Both)
Frequent disconnects during VS transition screen. Often caused by selecting START color of character. (Both)
Title crashes if user has a large friends list and tries to access the friends list (PS3)
Rating being set to “0″ and from then on, rating remains at “0″. Once that patch goes live, we’ll reset all leaderboards/scoreboards. (Both)
Vega sometimes causing desyncing, especially when using the fake wall dive. (Both).
Lobby list containing full rooms instead of only rooms that users can enter. (Both).
Zangief Super Motion not working on both sides and in both directions.
During the start of the match, there is slight slowdown. This has been minimized as much as possible. (PS3).
If connecting to a ranked match through the quick match function, it is best out of 3 rather than best out of 5. (Both)
Sending messages via XMB during a game causes a freeze. (PS3)
Players not added to “Players Met” list. (PS3)
Analog and D-pad can accept input at the same time. (Both)
I wasn’t much of a Battlefield 1942 fan. In fact, I was playing Return to Castle Wolfenstein’s multiplayer when the game debuted and didn’t enjoy how the game felt. So you will have to excuse me if I seem a little cold towards the upcoming PSN/XBLA/PC downloadable title, Battlefield 1943: Pacific. It’s a ‘remake’ of some the classic Battlefield 1942 maps like Wake Island. Sounds interesting considering I was a fan of the Battlefield 2 version, Wake Island 2007.
Let’s breakdown what this upcoming game will provide:
Geared towards pick up and play
Will cost approximately $15 – $20
Will be approximately 350 MB
Will only have three classes: Infantry, Riflemen, and Scout
Will have auto-regnerating health and unlimited ammo
Will be powered by the Frostbite engine which was used in Battlefield: Bad Company
Supports up to 24 players
