Street Fighter IV was given an official release date after some speculation, and now the folks at Capcom have confirmed that Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo: HD Remix will be available next week.
The PlayStation Network version will debut on Tuesday, November 25th with the Xbox Live! Arcade version debuting on the very next day.
I’ve been vocal about my lack of interest in this remake, especially in the light of Street Fighter IV’s debut in just a few short months.
Another week, another nineteen screenshots from everyone’s favorite HD remake of Super Street Fighter 2: Turbo. This batch features Sagat, Fei-long and more Akuma.
Capcom have done us all a little favor and narrowed down the release windows for both Street Fighter IV and Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo: HD Remix.
According to a Capcom-Unity forum post by Christian Svensson, SSF2T:HDR is done and submitted for certification. The game is scheduled for an assumed late-November release, however it may not be a simulatenous PSN/XBLA release if either of them encounter snags during the process. None of this is 100% official yet, so keep your eyes out for updates.
As for Street Fighter IV, it looks like Japan will be getting the much anticipated sequel in February 2009. Early adopters will also receive the animated movie which fills in the gap between Street Fighter II and Street Fighter IV.
Another week and another batch of remake screenshots. This batch features more Dhalsim, E. Honda and Guile. E. Honda looks absolutely massive! Not as foreboding as Street Fighter IV’s incarnation, but still.
Anyways, enjoy this week’s worth of hand drawn high definition goodness.
Slowly, but surely the amount of SSF2T:HDR media is climbing. Soon they’ll match the number of Street Fighter IV coverage! And to think this game was announced before Street Fighter IV. Anyways, anyone feeling good about this remake? With SFIV on the way, I don’t feel like this game is necessary anymore.
Street Fighter IV is shaping up very nicely. The same could be said about Tatsunoko vs Capcom, but what about Capcom’s hand drawn HD remake of Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo? Alright. In fact, I believe it has come a long way. However, I believe King of Fighters XII looks better. (That shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone.)
This batch includes T-Hawk, Cammy and Blanka! Oh, and everyone’s favorite Soviet wrestler, Zangief! No news on a release date yet.
Shard of GAF found quite a gem during his recent ESRB perusal: Marvel vs Capcom 2 is coming to the “PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360″. Well, that’s what the ESRB rating says. Since they don’t recognize the downloadable platform, it’s safe to say that the destined delivery methods are PSN and and XBLA.
If you need more proof, this was found as well:
I was just playing this game on my Dreamcast yesterday. It’s still very awesome.
The upcoming Megaman 9 DLC is a point of contention for some folks, but I’m not here to debate that issue. In fact, I don’t even own Megaman 9. Fortunately, for you folks out there, that hasn’t stopped me from sharing some media from the upcoming DLC pack featuring Megaman’s rival.
Are you ready for more 8-bit Megaman? I’m not. I’m just not feeling the excitement around the ‘9th‘ installment of the original Blue Bomber’s adventures. Even after looking through all the celebratory screenshots and artwork which Capcom released, I’m not feeling it. However, if they released a new 2D Megaman X, I’ll be there day one!
