Four Mafia II Screenshots Impresses

Monday, May 26th, 2008

I enjoyed Mafia a lot more than GTA3 and its subsequent sequels on the PlayStation 2/PC. Mafia created a great sense of time and place. Mafia II looks to continue that trend. I’m almost certain that the game will be less open-world, but if they sell a great atmosphere to play in: I’m all for it. Summer 2009 is very far away. In the meantime, check out the screenshots courteousy of Play3-live:

New Wii SKU Soon?

Monday, May 26th, 2008

According to Neowin’s source, a certain “major American retail outlet” flagged the current crop of Wii’s with an “early warning’ status. Why? No idea.

Perhaps it’s that mystical DVD playback enabled Wii? Or perhaps it’s the one with larger internal storage? Hell, it could be new colors.

I’ve always wanted a black Nintendo Wii console…

140W CPUs, 8W Dual-core CPUs and NVIDIA CPUs?!

Monday, May 26th, 2008

Ludicrous. A 140W CPU? Obviously this is catered towards the enthusiast, but one hundred forty watts for a CPU?! That’s just insane. ASUS doesn’t seem to think so since they have plans to accomodate such monstrosities.

There’s focus smaller and less power hungry processors though with news of an Intel Atom dual-core processor running at 1.6 GHz and consuming a measily 8 watts of power. That’s impressive. So impressive that NVIDIA wants to get into the small CPU space and make their own processors.

Wii Beer Pong to make Wii a drinking console?

Sunday, May 25th, 2008

This article reveals that there is a WiiWare game coming out that could be a very successful merger between the power of the Wii as a social gathering console and drinking.  Seems like a natural step to me considering I see the Wii being played at most parties nowadays where alcoholic beverages are being served.  Big ups to these WiiWare devs…

Screenshots from Two Fighters and RE5

Thursday, May 22nd, 2008

You talk about a game’s unveiling just yesterday and out of nowhere comes a flood of screenshots. Today, a bunch of Tatsunoko vs Capcom: Cross Generation Heroes screenshots were posted on Famitsu’s website. I’m loving the art direction and style of this game. It’s exactly what the Capcom vs games are all about with the over-the-top special moves.

Crappy XBLA games to be removed. No Spring Dashboard update

Thursday, May 22nd, 2008

An interview with Next-gen.biz revealed a handful of interesting Xbox 360 tidbits. First, the removal of underperformning XBLA games. I like this move. XBLA games which are selling poorly and have a Metacritic score of 65 or less will be delisted from the Marketplace. Good. It’ll be easier for new comers to find the gems.

Second, there’s no Spring Dashboard update. Not a huge loss for me since the dashboard was much improved with last year’s fall update.

Lastly, there will be a DRM tool to re-license XBLA games to another console so users do not have to sign onto Xbox Live! just to play their XBLA games. That’s great for those who’ve replaced their consoles.

BioShock Coming to PS3

Thursday, May 22nd, 2008

Better late than never. One 2007’s games of the year, BioShock, will be released for the PS3 after much speculation. When? Sometime this autumn. More details coming in the July issue of PSM3 (UK) and EGM (US). Some say it’ll come with additional content and a visual quality bump.

Not gonna lie. I may sell off my X360 version and pick up the PS3 one. Well, that is if I can get a decent trade or price for it. Or I can wait for BioShock 2…

Lupin The 3rd + MGS = Awesome

Wednesday, May 21st, 2008

Lupin The 3rd was a 1970’s anime which I know very little of. Metal Gear Solid is an awesome game. Mash the two together and you get a whole lot of awesome.

As if this was fan made:
