New RE5 Trailer Excites

Saturday, May 31st, 2008

This was some wicked stuff. That RE4 vibe was definitely felt and that is a good thing. No release date yet, but we know it’s coming for Xbox 360 and PS3. Oh, they released the official website as well.

Checkpoint: Death of A Router Edition

Friday, May 30th, 2008

My DLink DGL-4300 died yesterday. The warranty expired approximately 3 months ago as well. Bummer. I didn’t buy the router for its advertised “game experience” improving claims. I bought it because it was the cheapest 4 port Gigabit router I could buy. It’s so awesome that I bought a replacement from CanadaComputers for $95. My original one cost me $115 or so. Gigabit is so worth it.

The Greatest MGS4 Thread Ever

Thursday, May 29th, 2008

Seriously. I’m making a post about a thread and its quality. It’s actually an excellent thread (from NeoGAF) with just about everything you need to know about MGS4. It’s ridiculous how much effort was put into creating this. Written game summaries for all the previous Metal Gear games, character profiles, trailers, themes, movies — it’s all there.

Good job, BruceLeeRoy. An epic thread for an epic game.

Got my hands on some screenshots from the Xbox 360 build of Alone in the Dark. We got a lot, but I hand picked some of the noteworthy ones just for you. The game is looking pretty good. Enjoy, folks!

Valve Announces Steam Cloud

Thursday, May 29th, 2008

The days of losing your saved games are numbered. With Steam Cloud, Valve is offering gamers the ability to store their saved games online. So far only a handful of games are going to support this feature including the Half-Life games, CounterStrike and Left4Dead.

It’s about time such a feature was created and I’m not surprised that Valve were the first to do it. Bravo, Valve.

Ubidays 2008 is upon us. Quality over quantity? Or perhaps not everything was revealed yet. Anyways, I’ve gathered a few things and will continue to update this post with new tidbits as I stumble upon them.

Check out the videos, images and other tidbits below:

Tom Clancy’s EndWar concept derived from Mario Kart?

Wednesday, May 28th, 2008

It may sound wierd but upon reading this article, it makes sense that someone would eventually port Mario Kart’s rubber banding techniques over to another completely different genre.  I am suddenly interested in trying out EndWar just to see how this gameplay mechanic transfers over.  This one was for you No Style.

Windows 7 Supports Multi-touch

Wednesday, May 28th, 2008

Not many people like Vista. I like it. I think it’s fine, but that doesn’t mean that it couldn’t be better. Microsoft’s next operating system, Windows 7, is shaping up to be a worthy successor to Windows Vista and, most importantly, Windows XP. How? I don’t know all the nitty gritty details, but I do know it’s coming in 3 years and that it will support multi-touch screens!

Kotaku’s Grand Theft Auto: DUI

Tuesday, May 27th, 2008

What’s worse? The drunk driving simulation in GTAIV or actually driving drunk in GTAIV? Owen Wood from Kotaku puts it to the test with some entertaining results.

The drunk driving simulation in GTAIV is dizzying, but it’s not impossible to overcome. I did try driving drunk for a few minutes, but the novelty wore off and it became annoying.

Street Fighter 4 Sometime This Year

Tuesday, May 27th, 2008

According IGN, we should be expecting Street Fighter 4 sometime later this year. That’s not surprising seeing how the final location test was held not too long ago. What’s really surprising is the proposed platforms which includes not only the PS3 and Xbox 360, but also the PC.

Why not though?

The arcade version is running on Taito Type X2 hardware which is essentially a PC.
