Many news sites are reporting that Nintendo just officially announced that the latest and hopefully greatest Mario Kart game will hit continental American shelves on April 27th, 2008. This thankfully puts an end to the recent much fear cast into the hearts of Kart enthusiasts such as myself by reputable websites such as IGN and Gamespot who we’re posting a US release date of June 30th for some reason.

This delay was actually believable because of the outrage sparked by European/Aussie gamers when it was announced that since Smash Bros was delayed a few months for them and not the US, they would get Mario Kart earlier than US citizens. Thankfully though, the US copy of Mario Kart Wii will only come a couple weeks after the Euro version. Americas: 1, rest of world: 0.
