After a series of mighty blows from retailers and rumors surrounding Toshiba’s inevitable decision; the leader of the red team officially called it quits for HD DVD.

“We carefully assessed the long-term impact of continuing the so-called ‘next-generation format war’ and concluded that a swift decision will best help the market develop,”

Quite possibly the smartest move they could have made for themselves and the high definition movie market.
